storytellers, is literacy crisis.

A nation of storytellers is facing a literacy crisis

2 out of 3 of Kenyan parents say Kenya is not truthfully represented in their children’s books. Take a moment and reflect on that. We at Cadbury want to change this, with a little bit of help from everyone. From ‘Hekaya za Babu’, to stories told by the evening fires or in our kitchens, we are determined to reignite a love for reading in children by making contemporary Kenyan story books they can relate to available to them. However, we need your generous intent to make it happen. By writing your own original Kenyan story book, you could be part of helping co–author 150 books that will live on our website, for anyone to download, read and enjoy. This is just the first chapter of the journey, grab a pen and turn pages.

THERE’S A GLASS AND A HALF IN EVERYONE

In 2022, our mission continues as we seek to inspire more generosity in the world. We begin by asking our nation of storytellers to share a homegrown story so that more children can have access to their socio-cultural heritage relatably. There is generosity in all of us and your generosity can make a meaningful difference.
